Warning Message:The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for snow...which is in effect from 1 PM Tuesday to
7 am EST Thursday.
A low pressure system will move northeast on Tuesday. Snow...
associated with this system...should overspread the region
Tuesday...and then continue into Wednesday afternoon.
Northwest winds...behind the system...will result in colder air
flowing into the area. The combination of the cold northwest
wind and moisture should result in the snow continuing through
Wednesday night.
Total snow accumulations by late Thursday morning will range from
7 to 14 inches...with locally higher amounts.
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel...keep an extra flashlight...
food...and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
